Oklahoma Medicare Supplements (Medigap)

Choosing your Oklahoma Medicare supplement is easy to do when you have the right information at your fingertips. A Benefit Link agent licensed to sell Medigap plans can help you find the right coverage. Our friendly approach makes the entire Medicare enrollment process simple for you, and there’s no fee for our help.

To be eligible for a Medicare supplement in Oklahoma, you must live in the state and be enrolled in Medicare Part A & B. Once you have your Medicare plan in place, you can choose from the 10 standardized Medicare supplements available. Each Medigap plan has specific benefits. Some plans will pay for all of your cost-sharing after Medicare. Other plans may cover just a partial set of costs, but have a lower premium. You can choose the plan that’s right for you.

When you first activate Medicare Part B, you will have six months to enroll into a supplement without health underwriting. This is called your Medigap open enrollment period. During this time period you do not have to answer any health questions or disclose health conditions. The insurance company must approve your application. Out agents will guide you through this process.

Medigap for People Under Age 65

Medicare does not require insurance companies to offer Medicare supplements to people who are on Medicare early due to a disability. However, in Oklahoma, the state law requires that each carrier offer at least Medigap Plan A to people under 65.

It is extremely important to apply for your supplement within 6 months of your Medicare Part B effective date. The open enrollment period will entitle you to buy an Oklahoma Medigap plan without fear of decline for pre-existing conditions. Missing that window  or if you cannot afford Medigap coverage, you might consider Medicare Advantage plan.
