This is something that a lot of people inquire about, but not to disappoint, Medicare does not cover hearing or dental. They do have some provisions for vision, so if Medicare covers it, your Medicare Supplement can fall in suit and cover whatever the remaining balance of your bill is. If Medicare doesn’t cover it, then neither will your Medicare Supplement.
What Is And Is Not Covered?

For vision coverage, if you have diabetes, anything to do with even preventive care for your diabetes and having your eyes checked would be covered. If you do not have diabetes, anything to do with the eyes, whether that be glaucoma, cataracts, dry eyes, or any medical situation with the eyes that you have, will all be covered 100 percent under your Medicare Supplement. As long as you have a Medicare Supplement that covers a hundred percent of everything, typically, a Plan F or a Plan G is what you would go with regarding eyeglasses and preventive care.
Unless you have diabetes and have reason to have those yearly checkups on your eyes to see if anything’s changed in your vision, preventive eye care is not covered under Medicare. However, if you have cataract surgery, you would be covered for one pair of lenses, or the change in your prescription for your glasses would be covered.
If you have heard of Medicare plans covering dental and vision, those are referred to as Medicare Advantage plans. The coverage these plans provide is very, very limited. They cover very little and have a minimal network of doctors and dentists who accept it. You’ll see that the coverage doesn’t amount to much at all. If you need dental, vision, or hearing coverage, it is worth looking into a standalone plan for each of those.
